Metal Art by Gail

Gail Wall has been making metal art since taking an iron blacksmithing class at Penland in 2000, where she fell in love with the process, materials, and forging. Although she learned traditional technique from apprenticing with a German blacksmith, she tends to work intuitively with the metals and create images that come to her as she begins a project.

Her work is often inspired by stories, fables, and nature. She also loves the human body and hands, which may be related to her occupational therapy background. Dreams also inspire Gail's work!

Correction: Fale sale is November 23!

The date of the fall sale was incorrect in a previous post: the date is Saturday, November 23rd, and the rain date is Sunday, November 24th. I'm sorry for the mistake--please mark your calendars for November 23rd!

Andie Freeman Fine Art

Andie's original paintings, card sets, prints, wood prints, pendants and story boxes will be available at our fall sale, which will be held on Saturday, November 23, from 10-3 at the Pfafftown Farm (2233 Vienna Dozier Road). The rain date is November 24th, and our fabulous fall flyer will be posted soon!

Andie creates original oil paintings that are reflections of her spiritual journey. She utilizes strong areas of contrast, light and dark, movement and stillness. These represent the fragility of life and the passage of time. She also creates story boxes, historic dioramas of a specific person and time: a satisfying way to live history today in a funky little box.

See more of Andie's work at http://www.andiefreeman.com/ and http://andieillustrates.com/.
