Outside Inspiration

Artist Karen McCall spends lots of time in the woods, and what she encounters outside inspires her artwork.

She uses acrylic paints made for fabric to paint the flour sack towels and onesies, and her cards are linoleum block prints.  She carves the design out of a linoleum block. This process is almost like creating a negative of a photograph, carving out the opposite of what will be printed. Karen leaves the cards blank so folks can add their own greetings for whatever holiday they celebrate.
